When I discovered Texas
School, I was so elated
that I was almost beside
myself. I had taught
photography in high
school and community
college for over 17
years, but I had mostly
self taught myself.
Right before I moved
from NM, I attende...d
a NMPPA convention and
was impressed by the
learning that took place
and the print contest. I
had no idea that any of
that existed.
I moved to Texas after I
retired after 33 years
of teaching and started
my own photography
studio using my
self-taught knowledge
(which wasn't enough,
BTW). Since I was a
member of the NMPPA by
then, I got notification
to attend the SWPPA
convention in Arlington.
Again, I was ecstatic. I
attended everything at
the convention I could
possibly attend because
I was hungry for
education about the
photography I loved.
While at that first
convention, I went by
the Texas School booth
which was being run by
Cindy Romaguera. I had
no clue about any of the
instructors, and Cindy
introduced me to Ralph.
I was so impressed that
I took his class, and
the rest is history. I
haven't missed a Texas
School since. I love
learning, and I was
totally immersed in
learning there. Since I
knew no one when I went,
I was a little reluctant
to participate in all
the "extra-curricular"
events that took place,
but I went to learn what
they were all about.
Since then, not only
have I participated, but
I've brought new
photographers I've met
every year since then. I
promote the heck out of
Texas School because I
think it is an awesome
opportunity for anyone
in the photography
business whether one is
just starting or has
been in business a
while. |

When even a fellow
photographer in your own

lighting skills", you k...now
you must be improving! A
fabulous instructor I
had for a FULL WEEK at
TX School for under $500
charges $1200 for 1 1/2
days with him
instructing you at his
studio....halfway across
the US from me. IT IS A
BARGAIN PRICE FOR AN
PRICELESS EDUCATIONAL
